Physicians Immediate Care Fort Pierce History
Recognizing a high volume of patients traveling from the Midway Road area of Fort Pierce, Physicians Immediate Care opened its third clinic, a Fort Pierce location, in 2009. This 4,600 square foot state of the art facility offers five spacious patient rooms and three occupational medicine patient rooms fully stocked to treat any need. Located near Midway Road on South US Highway 1, this location offers fast, high quality medical care to the residents of Northern St. Lucie County making it the primary urgent care spot in this area of the county.
This location offers many occupational medicine services such as drug screening, alcohol testing, injury treatment and pre-employment physicals, primary care services and urgent care services. Among these services, this office also accepts appointments for primary care and occupational medicine; urgent care services are available on a walk-in basis 7 days a week. We also provide surgical clearance or pre-operative clearance for many area surgeons. The Ft. Pierce office is staffed with two smiling Patient Service Representatives and three friendly Clinical staff members, seven days a week, to help provide the best medical care possible to each and every patient. Among the staff, we always have a Radiologic Technician on-site to perform x-rays as requested by our provider to make sure each illness and injury is treated as efficiently and quickly as possible. Our CEO and clinical director also utilize the Fort Pierce location as their home base. All staff members are DOT and non-DOT certified drug screen collectors and certified breath alcohol technicians. We strive to offer the best treasure coast urgent care as well as primary care and occupational services.
Physicians Immediate Care Fort Pierce facility is equipped with digital X-Ray. Digital radiography is a form of X-ray imaging, where digital X-ray sensors are used instead of traditional photographic film. Advantages include time efficiency through bypassing chemical processing and the ability to digitally transfer and enhance images. While radiation is inevitable from x-rays, digital x-rays do have far lower levels than those emitted through traditional x-rays. In fact, digital x-rays produce levels of radiation that is 80% lower than traditional x-rays.
Onsite CLIA waived testing is available at our Fort Pierce location. CLIA waived tests are performed by use of a cartridge or dipstick method by our medical assistants. Utilizing CLIA waived testing allows us to give quick diagnosis of things like streptococcal throat infection, urinary tract infection, pregnancy, etc. We also draw blood for more extensive testing, prepare it for transport and send it out by courier to a nationally recognized laboratory.
For our patient’s convenience we offer diagnostic ultrasound by appointment only on designated days. Diagnostic ultrasound, also called sonography or diagnostic medical sonography, is an imaging method that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of structures within your body. The images can provide valuable information for diagnosing and treating a variety of diseases and conditions. Ultrasound is done only by order of a Physicians Immediate Care provider.
