Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a common intestinal condition affecting the bowel causing frequent abdominal pain and bowel changes, such as constipation and diarrhea. IBS symptoms are unpredictable but have been associated with a high-fat, high-sugar diet, ingesting dairy, stress factors, sleep, genetics and female menstruation. IBS occurs when an abnormality ensues in the regulation of the psychology, physiology, and metabolic process between the stomach and brain causing the bowel to become irritated. IBS takes both an emotional and physical toll on the sufferer.
February 14th is National Donor Day, an observance day originally designated in 1998 by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Saturn Corporation and its United Auto Workers to raise awareness for organ, eye, tissue, marrow, platelet and blood donation. Today, nearly 120,000 patients are on the waiting list to receive a lifesaving organ transplant, and countless others are in need of cornea, tissue, bone marrow, blood and platelet donation.
Physicians Immediate Care prides itself on being available to provide high-quality healthcare to our community at convenience to them. Our hours of operation, Monday to Friday 8 am to 8 pm, Saturday, and Sunday 8 am to 5 pm, allows employers and families to seek medical treatment when needed during those not-so-convenient regular business hours. This would not be possible without an outstanding team of medical and patient service professionals. While all of our staff strives to attend work each day, we would like to congratulate t six of our employees for an outstanding attendance record for the 2016 year. These six staff members have a perfect attendance record from January 1, 2016, through December 31, 2016:
Physicians Immediate Care would like to congratulate our 2016 Employees of the Year, Kayleigh Jewell (Clinical) and Deborah Olive (Clerical). Kayleigh Jewell, RT, started with Physicians Immediate Care in 2012 and Deborah Olive, PSR, in 2013. Both women have shown excellent care and respect to our patients throughout their journey with us. They provide their assistance in all areas of our practice when asked and are well respected by peers and management alike. While it was tough to choose only two for this prestigious award since Physicians Immediate Care has the best staff around, we would like to congratulate Kayleigh and Deborah once again! Thank you, both for your dedication to Physicians Immediate Care!
Physicians Immediate Care would like to congratulate Dannielle Madera, our December 2016 Employee of the Month. Dannielle has been a part of the Physicians Immediate Care family for about a year and a half. When asked what she likes most about her job, Dannielle, who works with us as a Medical Assistant, said that she likes the people she works with and she enjoys helping our patients feel better. Dannielle has two sons and describes herself as outgoing, easy to talk to, hardworking and reliable. In her free time she enjoys cooking, reading and supporting her sons’ band. Dannielle has always been very trusting and her positivity is infectious. We are very grateful to have her on the Physicians Immediate Care team. Congratulations again Dannielle!
