Marissa Sanford is the Office Manager of the Physicians Immediate Care locations in Ft. Pierce and Saint Lucie West. She has been employed with Physicians Immediate Care since September of 2011. Marissa began her PIC journey as a front desk receptionist at our Saint Lucie West office before being promoted to manager.
Marissa received her Bachelor’s degrees in Anthropology and Political Science (focus in Politics and Policy) from the University of Central Florida in Orlando. She graduated in December of 2010. After working for some time as a Loss Prevention agent she decided to move closer to her family in Indian River County and take additional science classes at Indian River State College. It was then that she began working at Physicians Immediate Care to see if she wanted to pursue a career in medicine.
Since being promoted to Office Manager in 2013, Marissa has acquired many additional responsibilities beyond the scope of managing the office. Those responsibilities include, but are not limited to; being the company’s Medical Examiner Administrative Assistant (MEAA) for FMCSA physicals, obtaining imaging authorizations, assisting the Medical Review Officer (MRO) with drug screen results, scheduling depositions and attorney conferences, as well scheduling and overseeing many of the company’s pre-employment physicals.
